Hello All,

I must say LemauditAnglais (Chris)I am rather put out by your posting concerning the 21eme participation at NA events and in particular the statement that you are intending to go and activley take part in another unit. Firstly can you explain what is meant by Rank & file 21eme members are welcome to attend NA events? and yet there are resevations about "long term member" are we not all of one Regiment? does this mean that Officers and senior NCO's are not permitted from our Regiment? What does this suggest? well to me it sounds like divide and rule. More importantly I have to point out to you and all the other members of the Regiment who are reading this that, it is strictly against Regimental rules and policy for a member of the 21eme to actively participate with another Napoleonic Regiment at any event (this rule has been in existince since 1992). So if you or any other member for that matter have or do take part in future you will be liable to possible sanctions from the 21eme command structure. I must say at this stage that I am absolutly flabergasted that no other senior members of the Regiment apart from the 2nd Sgt have pointed this out on this forum. Oh and for the record it would be better if 21eme members supported their own Regiment at as many events as possible first before they start worrying about NA events. After all many people moan that there not enough events!!!
Thank you,
Regards,
Richard.

Interesting chats boys there are few points I wish to raise, the NA do not wish to have US as a structure in the field with their units, they are more then keen to "bleed" away our members, this seems to me very unfair and bias indeed, Obviously our members can do what they wish as individuals but I am not at all happy for them to take part wearing our insignia with an unfriendly body such as the NA, second point is that as our rules go our members cannot be members of another Napoleonic unit at the same time as 21eme. This decision came about because of the conflict of interest in the field. As far as I know this decision still stands, so sorry Christopher I have received your long and eloquent letter in December but never got arround to reply to it but there you have it.
Keep your powder dry lads action time is upon us. Keep up the violin James!!!

The problem appears to be that the NA does not want us as a Regiment, for whatever reasons, I think that each year we should continue to offer our services as a Regiment, and not attend events unless all members of the Regiment are welcome.

Keith, always words of wisdom. yes go for it and Good Luck.
Our members should NOT do NA events on principle though.
I don't wish to say that all the members of the NA are agaist the 21e doing NA events it is a tiny minority of NCO'S And Officer. we have proved we can work with any regiment at events like Dorchester.
James
