(I've moved Chris' post as this is the relevant discussion thread. Keith)
I would like to remind all members of rule three, which is part of the ten rules that have been set up by the three most senior members of this regiment.
3)A member of the regiment cannot be an ACTIVE member of another Napoleonic unit.
I have over the years sent every member, a copy of these ten most important rules, any problems with any of the above,or if you would like to see again the ten, then ask me for a copy. as always your friend CHRIS DURKIN,

Nobody should be put out by me testing the waters to see what the NAs attitude and that of some of its French members is these days towards us attending NA events (I asked on behalf of some 21eme members who expressed that interest, I had already come to my own conclusions). I found out its a minority of folk in the NA harbouring petty jealousies like James says.

Interesting to note that the NA had to accept this year that a member can elect to name membership in more than one regiment.

I have at least been honest with my intentions and actions. As I have already informed the COs of 21eme I am helping a long time friend shape the french unit 69eme from a bunch of English turncoats into a researched cohesive unit. I have found this activity very rewarding and my efforts recognised.

If I have to leave the 21st as a consequence of this then thats a shame as I have made good friends with many of you and had many great experiences together.

I would like an official (non-public forum) response to my letter of December so I can make appropriate plans for this years season.

The purpose of the Forum is to discuss matters which may be of interest to members of the Regiment, and the public.

Private matters should be discussed directly with the Adjutant, or C.O.

(This is not intended as a criticism of this discussion, just a statement)

Hi all
I don't agree this is a private matter this discussion is the buisness of all members of the 21e.

That is really good of you to help your friend out Christopher and none of us have a problem with that, we would all help if asked, i'm sure.
As i said, I don't think our members should do NA events unless the whole Regiment is invited to do so. The tiny minority of the French NA that don't want the 21e doing NA events are not interested in whats good for Napoleonic re-enactment, its their own personal spite. Imagine if all the UK Napoleonic regiments turned up at one event,it would be a fantastic event.
I want more events but what can we do, our hands are tied.

Unfortunately Christopher if you are an active member of the 69eme then that is against Regimental rules, id be sorry to lose you but that is your choice.
James
PS . You can't post anything on the regimental buisness thread, nothing happens. Maybe Keith can enlighten me/us
