The "Regimental Business" page is not a discussion page, but, one we can use to post information only to members, at the moment the page is "blank."

I agree the subject here is worth discussing by the members of the Regiment, I meant that if a member has started an "official conversation" with the administration of the Regiment then the reply has to come through official channels.

I also agree that this subject is important to members, personally I'll help anyone with information and advice in their attempts to establish a unit (French or otherwise), but cannot accept that a member can be an active member of two Napoleonic units at the same time. As I remember it the Regiment established this rule because some members were using their membership in other units to avoid Regimetal drill, but still expecting to go on with the Regiment in the battle. This for bothe safety and morale reasons was not and I think is still not acceptable.

It is unfortunate that a situation has arisen where, for whatever reason, we are notworking with the NA.Both ourselves and the NA loose out.
The NA need more French Infantry, there are 17 affilated British units and only 5 French with a 6th forming.Indeed 2 of the units are offspring of British units presumably because there aren't enough french.
At present our campaigning season starts at the end of May and finishes at the beginning of October with just about a mininuim no of events.

As a fusilier iam sure many members want to attend more and varied events, easy to write but harder to arrange, i know.
So, we have reached an impasse. We have shown we can work with individual units of the NA and indeed we shared a coach in order to get to Austerliz with one unit.So we can decide that the status quo remains or we can try and change the position by developing a meaningful dialogue with NA, where we do have friends as well as some people who may not be our greatest fans.

It is only by having contact that anything will change. We all have customers/colleagues/patients/clients/relations who we may not like and would not choose to mix with but we find a way of getting along with them for the commen good. We may also be able to challenge any misunderstandings that may have arisen over time. Both ourselves and the NA have much more to gain than to loose by working together.

Hi All
I think this matter needs to be discussed at the regimental meeting, all who have somthing to say should come along. Its no use having alot to say on here then not go to the meeting, that is where Regimental decisions are made.

David hope you and your family are all well.
The 33rd who are non NA members are attending Rockingham So maybe we should ask for an invite, they can only say yes or no. This would be up to the C/O or Adjutant obviously.
